A Craps night!, a Crap night! and a give up!

This is a story of two Craps night, I went that friday to the casino to play Craps like I normally did at that time, I mention to the croupiers guys lets have a party tonight lets go for a drink and disco after you finish work. All the croupiers were happy to hear that and they agree to go out thta night. We would go a place were Dealers go after tey shift, to drink and have fun. After we did plan, I started having an amazing time, having fun, having a few drinks and my luck were like incredible, anything I bet I would hit. I was on fire, Dices were with me and my feelings, it did not matter where I bet, I could hit anything, the impossible were possible that night. At the end of the night I won 220 dollars, nothing bad for someone who is to use to win 20 dollar and go home. Anyway I did not suspect anything, ust had a great night. It was the end of the night, I swap my cheaps for cash, wait for the guys and we went for our party, than it was very nice full of alcohol, fun between us and fun with a group of girls. When I saw my clock it was almost midday!, I left home 8 p.m. I am going bac home at midday. I have not done that before, it was my first time, luckily my parents they were on holidays, if they were not I would be in troubles. I said good bye to everyone run straigh to home to rest. I probably was not tired, but this behaviour of staying until next day were not my custom, as well I was not too happy to stay until soo late. When I arrived home I went straigh to bed.

After I rest of my great night of winning and party, I woke up fresh but late. It was around 9 p.m. Like any Saturday I would go to the casino to do my business as usual, make my 20 dollars and go back home, I had my shower, got my clothes on and started going to the Casino, in the middle of my way I regalized than I did not unload my money from my wallet. First time than I take more than 100 dollars to the casino, actually were my bankroll from yesterday plus my profits minus the money than I expend in partying. I though this would not be a problem, I arrived to the Casino with the same plan, I went straigh to the Craps table to said hello to everyone, the guys who were in the party with me last night were there as well as the manager. Manager was not there normally, It was very rare for me to see him there. I was a very small player to boder a casino, but I am sure they might be upset than if I hit my 20 Dollars I would run. Never mind, I did not took it in the wrong way, just I though may be some one called ill and he has to do the job. Never the less I started playing, opposite than yesterday, everything went worng and really, really wrong. I was a player of 5 dollars bet. Mainly pass line. That night I could not win anything, I could not have a simple win. It does not matter, even the bad luck days I could win one time or twice. But this time could not win at all. I was very dissapointed and frustrated. I was loosing over 220 Dollars in bets of 5 dollars, I was not doble in up, I was not complaining at all, but probably I had a long face. I was discusted from the situation, I went for a walk inside the casino just to understand what is going on, I still had my last 4 cheaps, 20 dollars in total. After my rest I went back to the craps table. Place my body next to the middle croupier with the stick. The table was getting hot. While everybody were shouting and focus in the guy who was throwing the dice he turn towards me, he was face to face with me, in that moment when everyone was distracted told me “bet in doble six”. I look at him, with a face of what?, I have never ever done that Bet, pay out of that bet is 35 to 1 aprox. How I am going to do that bet? it is one of the most risky bets, you just bet for only one possibility of many. In my head said why should I follow his tip, if I am unlucky and nobody knows the future. Dealer hit so hard the dices in the snake eyes while he was passing the dices to the shooter. I did not wanted to expend the rest of my money, but I stayed there watching the dices. It come twelve like the Dealer told me. He turn again around me while nobody were watching him, told me do it. I was already in shock. How he could know what is coming. I was in a cloud of thinking, in ubelieve mood. I gave up to follow his tips. Next shoot, dices come again twelve. After I wait one more shoot it come eleven. I said thank you and bye bye to all of them with a lot to think about the game than I have been playing for quite long.

For me this story than I am telling you, sounds improbable, but it is a real one. I am a naive person and a believer than nobodys cheat. But this is not true people, casinos and a lot of places try to take advantage of you at any moment. How this dealer knows than the next shoot will be twelve?. how he knows the very next one will be twelve again? Obviously he knows what is the next dice result. He said twice straigh away to be an guess correctly. He was 100 porcent correct. I trid to understand the dice, how they work, how casino could manipulate them. why they push some numbers most than the other ones.

What I did next day is try to learn how to manipulate dices on my own way, probably it was not going to be a refined way to manipulate but I will try to do. I got two dices. I started smashing one side of both dices. I remenber I did grate the number one. After I grate a little bit I started shooting it, I found out than the favorites numbers where one and six, in each dice. I did not even grated a lot just a minimum thing. Basically the edge of the dices for those numbers where shorter of the other ones, that was the reason why one and six where a lot more favorite than, two, three, four and five. For you to understand in a easy way is think in a brick, the brick is a type of cube with diferent size edge. If you write a number in each side, you will notice than the longest surface will most of the time facing down and facing up. Try with a eraser, or with any figure than looks like a brick and you will notice how the numbers come.

It is obviouly, than in Casino will not have a brick as a dice, I am just saying than for our eyes, that nano diferents will not be noticed like when you do the experiment with an eraser of pencil than you could notice the diferents instantly. Casinos are not fools, They make sure than everything looks good and fair, but reallity is NOT. at least in a few games. I would expalin this later, the only thing is I suggest you, have an open mind. If you do not believe me how I could manipulate the dices. Please make your own experiment like I did. shoot your dices before graneted them and look their random. After you do graneted or scrath one of the side, you can start launching and look for any pattern, definitly you will find it. If you do not granet your dices again.

After I prove myself than the dices could be manipulated, I decided no play anymore craps. It was so obvioulsy than I have been cheated. When you loose 200 dollars, with a minimun bet of 5 dollars means than you have lost 40 times. If I would one only one time, means than I lost 41 times. But the reality was than I did not won once. But what made me mad and at the same time thankfully was the croupier in one way or another one, prove me than dices could be manipulated and casinos are experts. Thanks to this experience I stopped completely playing Craps. Regalizing than each casino game could be manipulated in one way or another one, and the way to be manipulated will not be in the obviously way. This experience a share with my friends, most of them did not believe what I was telling them.

No more Craps for me. I give up on Craps.

My come back

After a 3 to 4 month of resting and clarifing my ideas. I decided to come back to gamble, I choose a big casino were I was not used to play. It was a Saturday night I went by myself, I was loaded of energy. I still remenber the casino was full of guests. I took a diferent approach this time. I decided to play Roullete and numbers, but not as a primary gambler I could said as a speculator gambler, I decided to bet only in the spins than were similar than the spins before as well if there is a empty number in the cloth I should bet that number and the two numbers next to it in the Roullete. That was all my strategy, follow the spin see where the dealer drop the ball, in what number they dropped and see how much porcentage of the Roullete advance the ball lands. As soon as I see same spin I would bet. I will explain you both strategies, you need to know than I used to play only French Roullete, the first one is when dealer spin the ball, he launch the ball from the number 0, and the ball land in number in number 5. It does mean if you see a spin similar than before if you see the ball launched in number 22, would land in number 34. The second strategy is straigh forward. You choose a loaded table of people and chips. You watch the table cloth and see what numbers are empty, for example the only number than is empty is 22, and the rest of numbers are loaded. what do you do?. you bet number 22 and the two numbers next to it in the Roullete, 9 and 18. That was my strategy that night. It went so well. I won that nigh 680 dollars. After a few month of an obligatory holidays I went to win all my money back than I lost in my first week of university holidays!.

I still remenber that night it was the first time than I won “BIG”, I could not sleep that night, my body was full of adrenaline. My memories of the spins, my ammounts of bet were in my head, the pay outs of the dealers giving me the chips, and how they were looking at me. I am trying to compare this victory against my very begining victories. trying to found a pattern or a strong diferents. why I can not sleep, and before why I could sleep. Normal answer would be: It is the ammount of money than you just have won. 640 usd a day is more than 20 usd a day. I was not very convinced of that answer. Ammount of money could be the reason, but I was not happy with it because at the end is one more victory. Should not be any diferents, victory is a victory the ammount of money is not. I tried to compare as well the game of Craps with the Roullete game. I found very important diferents between those two games Craps is a slow game, where you normally do the bets before launch the craps, from time to time you do a bet on the air, some places have stopped this bets. In general the game is slow and bets are before the player throw the dice. Roulette is a diferent game, you can do bets while the ball still spining in the Roulette, the balls bounce from one number to another number to another number until it stops. The adrenaline in the Roullete multiply compare Craps game. When you hit a number you get paid 35 to 1, while in craps you get paid a max of 1 to 36 if you do bet snake eyes (DobleE ONE) or twin six (Doble SIX), this bet is very rare place for gamblers in the Craps table. I could said than the normal bets in craps would be your bet plus a little bit. The Hard 6 and 8 pay 10 to 1 and the hard 4 and 10 pay 8 to 1. Like you see the payment in the Roullete is hughe compare with any other game. It does not mean you have edge over the house or it is a better game in perspective of the odds of the game. Just means than the pay out for a hit is higher, but as well is harder to hit!.

To make sure I do not confused you I would like to share the house edge in each of the games than I have played. Baccarat: 1.06% – 1.24% Craps: 1.36% – 1.41% European Roulette: 2.70% This means if you go to play in the casino and you play Roulette you should loose 2.7 dollars each time than you gamble 100 Dollars, this is the “math point of view of the game” and it is the real one. I have written math of the game in quotation marks, the reason is: Does it happen to you?, Do you loose more?. I will look later this topic.

My first LOST

Finally it come, what I was expecting a lot early. It was in my break holidays, we had one month holidays and a group of friend of my age we put ourself toguether like a pack of wolves and we made a plan to go to every casino in town to make 20 dollars each person in each casino. Basically we made a Casino tour for ourself with the greed than at least myself never ever had. At that point like I mention before I had around 640 USD, there is no way nobody could stop me to upswing my bankroll up.

This part was very painful at that time, but a lesson of life. I started playing a Saturday night, I went to casino, won 20 USD, went to next one and lost 120 USD. I finished my night loosing my bankroll of that day. It did not matter If I won in one casino, I would loose in the next one, I remember I won in 4 casinos and them lost in the fifth casino. Basically after 6 days not even a week I had only 40 dollars in my pocket. I could said than it was my first time than I got broken, and the saddest part is still three more weeks of holidays and my pockets were empty. From an amazing opportunity it went so wrong, I expected than at some point I was going to loose. But the interesting part is none of my friends could win, all of them lost same as I did. We were a broken guys than could not afford petrol.

We were talking about why we did so wrong, why none of us won, we did asked ourself. We could not understand what did happen. As well as we were going to the casino, we were learning at the some time. I always try to understand why the things can go wrong and blame myself first. I never ever try to blame some one else, I do not want to have a scape goat. I think this is the most important thing I have as a person. If you know yourself, understand what are you trying to do and create an strategy to reach your goal. You can be in the right path. Obviously this little drop in my bankroll and in my head will not stop me, to carry on trying. I evaluate my situation like, how much money I had before start gambling and how much money I have after I lost 6 days in a row. I played over 6 month I built 640 USD dollar before lost most of it, I had expences for my day to day life. Now, I have only 40 dollars. It is not the end of the world.

My approach was very simple, I started with very little probably less than 40 dollars, after few month I still have 40 dollars, I lived 6 month from the profits I had made. I can see than I could said than I have gain experience, “I have learn how to gamble”(I was too positive about it”), how things can go wrong, how things can go well. Basically after all this I needed to take a break. I did regalized than I did not have enough money to play in the casino, as well than my head after this backlash I needed to rebuild myself.

What “WE” noticed

After a few months of my first time in the casino, while I was in university, Myself and a group of friends started to go to slot machine house just to have fun and kill our time between lessons. We really did not have real money to gamble, but we did enjoy the free drinks and food. In this places we found a few interesting like video poker, electronic Roullete and the Royal Ascot. We went to play this games often between lessons. After a while we found a few things than they were very interesting. The first thig than I noticed was in the electronic Roullete, something unlikely I saw the ball and Roullete at the some speed and told my friends is coming number 4!, they did not believe and did come number 4!. One of them asked me about how did I know. So I told him than a few spins before I saw exactly a very similar spin of the ball, some speed in Roullete, basically it was a Deja Vu (something than I already seen). One of my friend told me it is possible this is a UCM in physics. But we forgot about and we carry on playing with out thinking too much about it.

I would like to explain with an example to understand what does it mean. If there is a race of 2 horses and the pay out for winnig of horse A is 3 to 1, an the pay out to win for horse B is 3 to 1. What should you do to win? Correct bet both horses in the some race! every time you bet 1 unit to each horse means you will invest 2 units total, luckily for you the pay out no matter what horse wins you will get paid 3 times. Amazing so since that day that was our favorite game. We went for a break from lesson to lesson, have some drink and food and make some money.

At that time in the 90s technology was not advance as they are now, so some games could fail in one way or another one, and if there is a fail you could spotted it. During that time with out regalizing, I started to make some interesting money (at leas for me) from almost no money to hundred dollars was like a dream come true!, making some money with out work just in my break time between my university lessons. After my experience in this slot house and after I build my 100 dollars, I decided to visit for first time by my own a Casino near my home. It did not take me long to get there, it was a small casino with a few Cards games, Roullete and a Crap table. Like most of the time those Black Jack tables were soo busy, the only empty space was in Craps table. I did not had any interest to play Roullete. I join straigh away the Crap table, comparing myself with myself first time in the casino I was completely chancheg I was more determinated to play and gamble, and I was not afraid or intimidated for the atmosphere, casino or players. As soon as I join the table dealer point at me and knock with his stick in my direction the table and said to me is your time to throw the dices. This was funny I felt overwhelmed. Did not have time to observe, change my money and the most important I did not any of the rules!, I was a noob on the table, obviously I was clueless of th game. I think everybody noticed it, I went to my back pocket and took my 5 notes of 20 dollars bill, to give to the dealer, the guy told me on the table please. Basically I learn than they do not take any money in hand, what they do is they count the mony on the table and record it for safe reasons. They game like a lot of chips between 5 dollars chips they were red, and 1 dollar chips they were white. They told me how much is minimun bet and were to bet, I choose to put my money in pass line, than means in your first throw you win with 7 or eleven, and you loose with doble one, doble six and the sum of 3. Luckily I won, and not only that, I won 4 shots in a row. that means than I was 20 dollars up!, I was freeking out of addrenaline and so happy to win this money in less than probably 5 min. I did the unexpected. I took my money and my winning, I thank to them and I left. I could see in the mirrow they were talking about me. I did not care, I was happy with what I have won. I went to the cashier, they cash me out left the casino and went back home.

In my way back to home I started to think, is this really possible to win in the casino all the time?, every time you visit the casino could you always take money home? I think this is the question than every gambler does. Not sure what is the answer, probably is not. But, come on! I have been in Casino 2 times and many times in the Slots machine house, I have been a winner, always made money. May be I am a lucky guy. This idea was floating around in my head everyday since that day, I went again to the casino another day, I went this time to play black and red as well as column and dozens. I won again my 20 dollars. I did not go often to the casino, but everytime I was, I won. I was very curious when I am going to loose that was my question to answer. Thinking about it you have 100 dollars you do 5 dollars bet and finished your session of casino if you do reach 20 dollars in winning. I went for several month going to casino oly fridays and saturdays. The results were always winning. I was amazed.

After a while of going to the casino, I was ahead. After all my daily spending, my bankroll was around 640 dollars up. Considering than everytime I go the casino I made 20 dollars, means than I have been 32 times in the casino and most important I won each time. This is not true, I actually had been in the casino a lot more times than 32, why? because I used to use the money from the casino to spend in bus and daily food and still havig 640 dollars in my bankroincreasell. It does not sound much money, definitly is not a lot of money. But what I was impressed is the many times I went to casino and won.

Trying to understand why I won, and why I did not loose, that is probably the task than I should work on. First I had quite nice ammount of money compare my daily target and my minimum bet, as well my greed to make a lot of money is nothing compare to other players. I am not interested to stay long time in the casino, as well I was not interested to be rich in One day. I understood that at some point I should loose. But why the time were not catch me and gave me my first lost?.
